Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal's The Accountant 2 has yet to reach a number where we can say it's profitable according to the usual rule of thumb. It has to be over double. However, it has reached one milestone at the domestic box office. Currently, the film sits with $53.5 million in revenue, making it the third-highest-grossing film on Amazon and MGM Studios.
Before that sit Red One (2024) and Beekeeper (2024) with $97 million and $66.2 million at the domestic box office. The former one became a box office bomb, but the latter, on the contrary, exploded at the box office. That's interesting, as the bigger opener of the two failed big time. Red One opened with $32.1 million and The Beekeeper with $16.5 million.
If we look at The Accountant 2's box office performance, it opened with $24.5 million and slipped 61% in its second weekend as it generated $9.4 million. The momentum remained as it fell 29% again in the following week, where it garnered $6.7 million.
Looking at its recent daily turnover, it is experiencing its highs and lows, with it generating $595k, $889k, and $575k between May 12 and 14. May 14 earnings were the lowest at the domestic box office.
The Accountant 2 isn't coming close to Red One

Though The Accountant 2 holds a better reputation critically, it isn't likely to come close to Red One. Even if it remains in theaters for a longer time, we are seeing a decline in its revenue, and it is likely to go down even more as the interest in the film fades.
Add to it some big blockbusters coming in this month. Just tomorrow, we will see Final Destination Bloodlines hit the theaters. The franchise is giving the fans a movie after a long time. The first five films arrived in a span of 11 years, between 2000 and 2011. This one's coming in after 14 years.
And that is not even the biggest banger we are talking about. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is coming into the theaters on May 23, 2025. We can all just say that The Accountant 2 has until that date, because no one even lays a gaze upon a tuna when they have a shark in front of them.
This is just about May; for bigger challenges, The Accountant 2 is up against From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which is coming in on June 6, 2025. That's the first spin-off to John Wick with Ana De Armas in it, so people are not missing that one at any cost.
Then there's 28 Years Later, releasing on June 20, which is a sequel to 28 Weeks Later (2007). That's actually 18 years later, so fans would surely want to see what changed in this world. There's also a website that'll give away some clues from the trailer.
On June 27, Brad Pitt's F1 will arrive too. Our point is, The Accountant 2 has no chance of survival when it comes to the box office. So we should see how much revenue it can pull before these releases happen.
