The Fantastic Four: First Steps, directed by Matt Shakman, brings Marvel's first family to the MCU. The film will be out in theaters this summer. So, a month ahead of its release, Marvel has shared a new and final trailer. It shows the four heroes facing the threat of the Silver Surfer, who seems determined to take over their world.
Here's the trailer for your reference:
The two-and-a-half-minute clip reveals how big a burden the heroes are dealing with. It restates that they will be fighting together as a family, and based on what we see, it won't be all about spectacle.
Reed Richards and Sue Storm will have worries about raising their child while Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm stay by their side. One moment, they are getting ready for their Sunday dinner, and right after, they face Silver Surfer, floating in the sky, claiming:
"I herald his beginning. I herald your end. I herald Galactus."
That is enough to give a good chill to a Marvel fan. In the trailer, we hear her speak, but we still don't get the full look of the planet-eating Galactus. The trailer offers just a peek into his massive armor. So, the fans will have to buy tickets to see Ralph Ineson's character in all its glory. Josh Friedman and Eric Pearson's script will reveal that in the film.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps' final trailer sets up the stage for a fresh start for the MCU's Phase Six.

The final trailer of The Fantastic Four: First Steps promises an overall fun installment in the MCU's saga that has been running low on fuel for a while. Maybe all it needs is the screen magic of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn for people to get over their overwhelming superhero fatigue. To make that happen, the trailer makes sure it is not all serious. It shows breezy moments in their lives to make us want to be a part of their family.
While walking on the street, a passerby asks The Thing, in jest, to say:
"It's clobbering time!"
The Thing responds:
"That's not really something I say. — It's just in the cartoon."
Ben doesn't insult that man or get furious. He understands that they don't mean any harm. So, it is clear that we will get to see the softer side of this tough man, who might use his powers only when needed. That is not the only character that seems fun in this equation. Johnny, aka The Human Torch, seems just as playful, but the kind that you would want to be around. So, Sue and Reed might be the parents of the entire unit after all.
While it is not self-serious, The Fantastic Four is still serious since the family needs to save their planet from the duo of Galactus and Silver Surfer (at least) to prove that they are the ever-reliable guardians. Reed doesn't want to give any false hope, but he is surely not giving up, and neither is Sue, who tells her family members:
"Family is about connecting to something bigger than yourself. We'll face it together as a family."
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025.
