The Numbers reported that The Naked Gun has earned $75.5 million at the box office globally even before the completion of its fourth weekend run. This means that it can manage to earn $80 million in the coming days. Out of this figure, the film minted $44.6 million domestically and $30.9 million from the international box office.

This figure puts the title as the 32nd film in 2025 to cross the $75 million mark globally. It is also the third film in the live-action comedy genre to do so, behind names like Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy ($140.3 million) and Freakier Friday ($91.6 million).

The Liam Neeson starrer had grossed $16.8 million during its opening weekend, gaining the third spot that week. Looking at its $42 million budget, the film will need to gross $105 million to break even. This seems like an uphill task, so it's possible that The Naked Gun might actually not become a profitable commercial venture at the box office. But the film can still find viewers on streaming platforms and video-on-demand mode.

The film is produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins and serves as a legacy sequel to 1994's Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult. Its cast members include,

  • Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr.
  • Pamela Anderson as Beth Davenport
  • Kevin Durand as Sig Gustafson
  • Cody Rhodes as Bartender
  • Paul Walter Hauser as Capt. Ed Hocken Jr.
  • Danny Huston as Richard Cane
  • CCH Pounder as Chief Davis
  • Moses Jones as Not Nordberg Jr.
  • Busta Rhymes as Bank Robber
  • Liza Koshy as Detective Barnes
  • Eddie Yu as Detective Park

In an interview with The Gulf, Neeson was asked if Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. was a new character for him. He said:

Yes, it was. Spoofing fun at my past cinema history, certainly over the past Taken movies. The first one of those we shot 18 years ago."

He added,

“Yes. I mean, I hesitate to say it was all fun. It wasn’t, because it was comedy. Comedy, a lot of times, isn’t fun. But did I enjoy making it? Yes, I did. I enjoyed working very much with Pamela, Paul, and my old friend Danny Huston. Schaefer, who comes from the world of comedy with Saturday Night Live. He understands and can analyse comedy incredibly well."
