Tyler Perry is back with another wild ride, and this time, Madea’s bringing the drama, the shade, and the church fan to a tropical island. The official trailer for Madea’s Destination Wedding just dropped, and it’s already giving sun, sass, and complete chaos. The story kicks off when Madea’s grandniece Tiffany shocks the fam by announcing she’s marrying a rapper she met on a yacht, with the wedding set for two weeks later in the Bahamas.

Cue the passports, the panic, and plenty of family mess. As the 13th film in the Madea universe, Madea's Destination Wedding is not just about love, it’s about legacy, beach brawls, and Madea figuring out how to not slap someone in paradise. With Perry at the helm and the franchise hitting its 20-year milestone, you already know it’s about to be unhinged in the best way. Madea’s Destination Wedding lands on Netflix July 11, and baby, the bouquet isn’t the only thing flying.

Talking about Madea's Destination Wedding, Perry told Tudum,

“It’s been 20 years now since Diary of a Mad Black Woman came out. To see that this character is still enduring, and people are still watching and enjoying and laughing, it’s really mind-blowing to me. I keep coming back because some of this is just escapism. Just let’s leave the world behind for a moment and come to Madea’s house, and have some good food and laugh, and cry and celebrate and be all of those things.”

Tyler Perry’s Madea franchise isn’t just a collection of films, it’s a pop culture hurricane that’s been storming through theaters, living rooms, and hearts for nearly two decades. Inspired by Perry’s no-nonsense mother and aunt, Madea became an icon of tough love and unfiltered Southern soul. Whether she’s saving family reunions, surviving jail time, or terrorizing Halloween hooligans, Madea’s legacy lies in her ability to balance outrageous humor with a big-hearted core.

With Madea's Destination Wedding being the thirteenth film, and billions in box office revenue under her belt, Madea's antics have ranged from weddings to jail time to haunted houses. Now, with Madea’s Destination Wedding on the horizon, she’s not just crashing weddings; she’s cementing her legacy. Again.

The cast includes Tyler Perry as Madea, Joe Simmons, and Brian Simmons, while Cassi Davis brings Aunt Bam to life. Tamela Mann plays Cora, and David Mann takes on the role of Mr. Brown. Diamond White shines as Tiffany, with Taja V. Simpson as Debra. Jermaine Harris rounds out the cast as B.J., and Xavier Smalls plays Xavier. Together, they bring the hilarious, heartfelt, and chaotic world of Madea’s Destination Wedding to the screen.

Madea’s Destination Wedding will be available on Netflix on 11 July, 2025.
