The Senior is based on the real-life story of Mike Flynt, who joins his college football team as a linebacker at the age of 59, nearly 37 years after getting expelled due to an altercation. Mike meets his college mates and tries to redeem his past mistake.

The two-minute and 23-second-long official trailer of the film begins with Mike's voiceover, where he describes football as the greatest game of mankind. The protagonist then reveals that he did not get to finish his senior year as he was thrown out for fighting with a player. Mike then expresses that he wishes he could go back and do everything all over again. The rest of the trailer then features him trying football at the age of 59.

In an official statement, the film's director, Rod Lurie said:

“I love football — everything about it: the intensity, the strategies, the artfulness of the athleticism… but mostly, I am imbued with it as a metaphor for playing to the final whistle. That, you see, is what the story of Mike Flynt fully represents.”

The film is based on Mike Flynt's true story, which adds a layer of authenticity to the overall premise. Will you be watching the film in the theatres?
