Guillermo del Toro's latest thing of beauty, Frankenstein, was recently premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. The critics' response was electric, and now we wait for it to release in theaters, which it will on October 17, 2025. Not even a month after, fans will be able to see it on the streaming platform Netflix.

As of this writing, the film holds an 81% rating on the review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes. The critics have called the film "bold," "gleeful," a "deliciously dark fairy tale," and more. This isn't for the director who just loves monsters. But his brilliance doesn't just come from this love but also from his zeal for doing the hard work.

Recently, J. Miles Dale, a regular collaborator of Guillermo del Toro and a co-producer of Frankenstein, spoke about this in an interview. And he shared his worst fear while working with the director.

During this interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dale revealed what it is like working with Guillermo del Toro. And his worst fear is to let the director down while working together on a film. He said:

"Look, the worst fear on a Guillermo del Toro movie is letting him down because ultimately he’s the hardest-working guy on the movie. He never stops, and he’s going to answer any question — he answers a million a day — and he’s always the smartest guy in the room."

He added:

"That is just going to either make all of us better or we’ll fail and we won’t make the cut, and we won’t make be part of the film family, the film family that everyone so desperately wants to be a part of. Because he’s the best."

The Shape of Water team also feels the same, as they once shared in an interview with IMDb. Actor Richard Jenkins, who played Giles in the film, says that Guillermo del Toro is "a genuine man," and he "roots for you" and "wants you to be good."

Doug Jones, who plays The Amphibian Man, says that there is an "eight-year-old fanboy" inside the director. But with that also comes a "genius storyteller."
