Who would win in a duel between James Bond and MCU's Nick Fury? That's a tough call, but The Unholy Trinity may have gotten an answer to it, as Pierce Brosnan, who formerly played Bond, is in it opposite Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film is no short of a stroke of luck, as it was developed during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, where several projects in Hollywood took hits because of it. However, SAG-AFTRA eventually allowed it to happen under an interim agreement.
Other than Brosnan and Jackson, Brandon Lessard, Tim Daly, Veronica Ferres, and more are in the film. As for its release, it already had a world premiere on October 12, 2024, at the Zurich Film Festival. Now it is set for a release on June 13, 2025, in the US.
What's the story of The Unholy Trinity

There is not much detail on the plot except for what has been officially provided, which tells us about a young boy in 1870s Montana caught between some real gunslingers. Going by the official plot that comes alongside the trailer, it reads:
"A tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures, the film is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry, an impossible task: Murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove, the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St Christopher."
Before this, Samuel L. Jackson appeared in another Western, Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight (2015), where he played a similar role. Though what happens with him can give the viewer a feeling of pain that no one should feel, we might say, Channing Tatum's Jody's aim from below that wooden floorboard is something worth our respect.
We aren't including Django Unchained, another Western in which Samuel L. Jackson acted, here, as he wasn't really a gunslinger and more of Candie's (Leonardo DiCaprio) loyal butler. That said, it is not a great parallel with Jackson's The Unholy Trinity character.
Here's a breakdown of The Unholy Trinity trailer
The Unholy Trinity trailer begins with Lessard's Henry in a conversation with Jackson's St. Christopher—both appear to be headed somewhere after the former had discussed his now late father.
Later, he meets Brosnan's Sheriff Gabriel and tells him whose son he is. Gabriel's advice? Keep the ancestry between them two or there might be some problems for the lad.
Following this, a fight ensues between what appears to be St. Christopher's gang and Gabriel's team of officials in a remote region. But immediately after this sequence, we see Gabriel and Henry again, and it seems like the former is offering him a job if he can kill one of St. Christopher's men.
We don't know who really killed Henry's father after framing him, but there is a good chance it's one of the two rivals, Gabriel and St. Christopher. This is speculation anyway—we will learn that in June.
