IShowSpeed's brother got into a verbal altercation with streamer and AMP member Kai Cenat during a live broadcast at Streamer University. Streamer University is a creator-focused project hosted by Kai Cenat. The situation unfolded after Jamal seemed to question Kai's authority and decision-making in front of other streamers. A user commented:
“These streamers are giving wanna be Baddies”
Kai Cenat attempted to defuse the situation, and Jamal was heard live, stating, clearly irritated:
"You think I'm not gonna beat your a**? You'll disrespect my generation. Don't do that shit again, n****!"
Viewers claimed that the dispute appeared to have started over a "minor disciplinary issue" that Jamal had during a group exercise. But when Jamal accused Kai of picking on him, things rapidly got out of hand. There was a brief halt in the live due to the uncomfortable situation, which left followers to wonder if it was real or staged for effect.
The internet's reaction to Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's brother Jamal's verbal altercation
The internet reacted in all sorts of ways possible to the verbal altercation between Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's brother Jamal. The comment sections were flooded as soon as the clip went viral. One user commented:
"Lmao ngl these streamers are giving wanna be Baddies."
Linking the streamer's actions to heightened drama reminiscent of the reality program Baddies, which is renowned for its feisty characters and unpredictable conflicts.
Another user joined in with the comment:
"Streamers are just the modern-day reality television. Trash watching trash."
A third user added:
"Its all staged."
Jamal is receiving criticism for sounding and acting like IShowSpeed, but not necessarily in a positive way. A user stated:
"Lil bro tryin be ishowspeed, Though they sound kinda similar."
Another user seconded:
"Not Speed’s mini-me coming with the bold energy already!"
A user believes that Jamal shares Speed's chaotic and polarizing characteristics, which raises the issue of how much it is authentic and how much it is an imitation. He commented:
"Jamal is equally disrespectful and irritating as his brother, iShowspeed is."
Despite being Speed's "little bro," a viewer noted that Jamal seems bigger than streamer Kai Cenat:
"He speeds lil bro and already bigger than Kai"
What is Streamer University, and what did Kai and Jamal say about the verbal altercation?
Established streamers like DDG, ChrisNxtDoor, Duke Dennis and Agent 00 mentor and provide 120 emerging streamers with advice on different fields and genres. It is a creative and mentorship program founded by Kai Cenat. The structure makes it difficult to distinguish between the content creation boot camp and reality television.
In an attempt to figure out if the viral clip, which was being shared on the internet, was real or scripted, a lot of followers flocked to social media to comment and figure out.
Although Kai Cenat has not gone into great depth about the event, he did imply in a later stream that “not everyone can handle the pressure.” Jamal hasn't made any public remarks either, which has led to more conjecture on possible outcomes or plot advancement.
IShowSpeed has refrained from making any direct remarks on his brother's outburst. Fans pointed out that Speed had earlier pleaded with Kai for a position at Streamer University, not so that he could attend, but so that Jamal might gain admission. While pointing at his brother, Speed said:
“You should go to that. I will fly him out to that. It doesn’t matter where it is, you going. Does he have to apply? Like, come on, you can’t just smuggle my brother in, bro? Like, come on, this is my brother! Just let him in!”
Kai replied while urging Jamal to apply:
“Imma talk to my people when your application comes in, imma boost yours in the ranking. Don’t even worry about it, bro."
Speed added:
"Yeah, I better see you there."
Big boots to fill for Jamal?
Even if it was indirect, Speed's involvement could have increased Jamal's pressure to perform well in front of the public. Jamal recently hit 100K subscribers.
He was seen getting excited for his little brother. As Speed walked into Jamal's room, he said:
“Wait, I think you hit 100k.”
To which Jamal asked if he did, and both brothers screamed:
“Oh my god”
Jamal shouted in excitement:
“We did it, bro!”
To which Speed replies:
“I love you, bro.”
And Jamal replies
“Bro, I love you, man. Thank you for making this work”
Speed congratulated him on this achievement.
Jamal revealed back in October that he no longer wanted to be in his brother's stream since it "ticks" him off when people bring about Speed's fame. Jamal has stated that he did not want to be the center of attention. He said:
“Let’s say I wanna be a regular kid. I wanna do stuff without a famous brother."
