Tom Holland seems to be all set to put on his Spider-Man suit again as Spider-Man: Brand New Day reportedly begins filming in Glasgow, Scotland.
The film marks Tom Holland's return to the MCU after Spider-Man: No Way Home, which showed him joining forces with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, reprising their roles in a multiverse setup. However, the new film is expected to be a classic coming-of-age tale, showing him returning to fight the odds in his city.
It seems like Tom Holland has arrived on the set for the same film. In a recent Instagram story, he shared a photo in the makeup room with a caption that read, "secret shoot."
Since he shared this story, fans started speculating about what project he might be referring to with this post. Some of them had a reason to believe that Holland is on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day set, which is rumored to commence production in Scotland in August. Fans have also started discussing when the movie will take place in the MCU timeline.
Here's what we know about Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the seventh time Tom Holland appears as the wall-crawling hero in the MCU's timeline. He began his journey with a special appearance in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. It was followed by two Avengers projects and three Spider-Man projects that placed him firmly with Marvel's continuing saga.
Holland's upcoming Spider-Man film is scheduled to be released the same year as Marvel's next team-up project, Avengers: Doomsday. So, fans were wondering whether his film would follow the events before Doomsday or its aftermath. It seems like they have found an answer with a leaked photo from the set.
The photo shows a construction set to be completed in December 2027. It made the fans believe that Brand New Day would take place seemingly before Doctor Doom arrives in his life.
To preface, the recent MCU films, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, were set across 2026 and 2027. The latter film's post-credits scene showed the "New Avengers" preparing for the events of Doomsday, 14 months after they received the moniker.
It all indicates that Spider-Man: Brand New Day might take place before Doomsday, which will supposedly take place in 2028 or 2029.
What else is Tom Holland working on?

Tom Holland might be back on the Spider-Man set for his return to the MCU, but he is also adding a few more exciting projects to his filmography.
One of them is Christopher Nolan's Homeric epic adaptation, The Odyssey, where he stars alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, and more. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters in July 2026. The same month, Brand New Day is scheduled to join it across the cinemas.
Holland's name has also been attached to Amazon's MGM Studios' sports drama, American Speed, alongside Austin Butler, as per Deadline. More details on this project are expected soon.
