Scott Spiegel, co-writer of Evil Dead II, has died at the age of 67, according to a report in TMZ.
The news of his death was confirmed by Robert Kurtzman on social media, a member of the special effects makeup crew from Evil Dead II. His post was re-shared by Spiegel’s friend, and actor, Bruce Campbell on X, who wrote:
“This is a big personal loss. Scott Spiegel was a huge part of my formative years back in Michigan. From Sunday School to being stock boys together, to Evil Dead II, which Scott co-wrote, I can’t look in the rear view mirror without seeing this unique guy doing cheap gags. I’m grateful for the treasure trove of happy memories. Keep Shemping, Scott!”
Although no cause of death has been announced yet for the writer, reports emerged on social media last month stating that Scott Spiegel was on life support. A friend added that he hadn’t been expected to make it, according to a report in The Mirror.
