Trust: Release date news, cast details and more about the upcoming thriller starring Sophie Turner

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is set to make her big screen return in the upcoming psychological thriller film titled Trust, which is gearing up for an August release this year. Carlson Young (known for her work in The Blazing World) is at the helm of the project with Paramount's subsidiary label Republic Pictures.

Recently, Paramount Pictures has dropped the trailer for Turner's upcoming survival thriller, the story of which revolves around a young aspiring Hollywood actress (portrayed by Turner, who also executive produces) whose life takes an unprecedented turn following a scandal. Gigi Levangie has worked as a screenwriter on the project alongside Miles Koules (on behalf of Koulest Productions and known for his work in Saw).

The official synopsis of Trust, per IMDb, reads:

"A Hollywood actress hides in a remote cabin after a scandal, only to find herself betrayed and fighting for survival against someone she once trusted."

When will Trust be released?

Trust is set for a select theatrical release across the United States on August 22, 2025. The Sophie Turner starrer also shares a premiere date with Chris Evans' upcoming potential BO hit Honey Don't! Ketura Kestin has also worked as a producer alongside Miles Koules, as well as Oren Koules (known from Twisted Pictures).

What do we know about the story of Trust?

Trust is a story of survival centering on a young woman (the protagonist) who is just aiming to rise to the peak of her acting career. While on her creative chronicles, the aspiring Hollywood star confides in a man she initially trusts.

However, her life takes a 180-degree turn after a scandalous leak (because of the same person) shames her in front of the entire world. Horrified by the aftermath and with a broken heart, she takes shelter in an isolated cabin somewhere on the outskirts of the city.

But, little did she know that the man she had trusted would follow her there (virtually) as well, and soon our protagonist finds herself trapped - as the official logline of the movie goes:

"She can hide, but she can’t run."

The trailer features a nerve-wracking journey of Sophie Turner's character as she locks herself away from the world, but ends up getting trapped and tortured to death. Does she eventually escape?
