Actor, playwright, and filmmaker Tyler Perry was recently accused of sexual assault by a fellow actor, Derek Dixon, who worked with Perry on The Oval. Dixon is filing a $260 million lawsuit against the famous "Madea" actor, accusing him of sexual battery, sexual assault, retaliation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more.
Dixon even appeared on ABC News to do an interview, speaking out about his alleged experience with Tyler Perry. Derek recalled his experience, saying that he saw a health monitor and questioned Perry about it, to which the latter responded by saying that he needed to be in his underwear to measure.
He continued to describe what Perry allegedly did to him:
"He reached down and pulled my underwear down and grabbed my ass and I tried to stop him and pull back my underwear up... He kind of grabbed my arms and said, 'No no no, it's okay. Just go with it.' And I said, 'Stop, I don't want to be naked. I don't want this.'"
Furthermore, Dixon explained:
"Unless someone's been through something where they have their control over their body taken away, you don't really understand the kind of feelings that you get in that moment... Every thought came into my head: to run, to fight, to freeze. I didn't know what to do."
Tyler Perry's attorney, Matthew Boyd, denied the allegations and said:
"This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam... Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail."
