Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have unexpectedly captured our hearts not for an action sequence or a classic ’90s TV comeback, but for something a little more tender. As co-stars in the upcoming comedy reboot The Naked Gun, buzz started when a source told PEOPLE on July 29 that the pair are “in the early stages” of romance. Suddenly, viewers aren’t just curious about the on-screen chemistry they want to know if real sparks are flying off camera too.

Enter Andy Cohen, longtime friend of Neeson’s late wife, Natasha Richardson. Speaking on his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live on July 30, Cohen offered a wholehearted seal of approval. Cohen said he is:

“very much stanning whatever this is.”

His warm endorsement has only added fuel to the fire, sending fans scrambling through old interviews and red-carpet photos for clues about this surprising Hollywood pairing.

Andy Cohen Supports Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson

When Cohen spoke to Neeson at The Naked Gun premiere on July 28, he was struck by more than just Neeson’s movie-star swagger. “Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was,” Cohen told his friend, drawing a heartfelt comparison to Natasha Richardson, whom Neeson married in 1994. He praised Anderson’s self-reliance, her passion for cooking, her two teenage sons and her successful journey of self-reinvention after years in the spotlight.

That very evening, Anderson herself couldn’t help but fan the flames. On Instagram, she shared snapshots from the premiere and captioned them:

“A beautiful evening at the NYC Naked Gun premiere … thank you to everyone who came out to laugh with us … love is in the air.”

The post lit up social media, racking up thousands of likes and comments as fans speculated whether the “love” in question was more than promotional flair.

A source close to the film confirmed to PEOPLE that the duo has been enjoying each other’s company off camera so much so that a playful, pretend make-out session on the Today show set raised eyebrows (and view counts) everywhere. It seems viewers can’t get enough of two icons from wildly different eras: Pamela Anderson, 58, famed for Baywatch and her free-spirited persona; and Neeson, 73, Hollywood’s go-to action dad since Schindler’s List.

Both Pamela Anderson and Neeson are parents to two sons each. Pamela Anderson’s oldest, Brandon, is 28, followed by Dylan, 26. Neeson’s sons, Micheál (30) and Daniel (28), were born during his marriage to Richardson. Cohen pointed out that shared experiences of being parents and Anderson’s resilience after high-profile ups and downs make this pairing feel surprisingly natural.

While Hollywood has a reputation for fleeting flings, this budding connection between Pamela Anderson and Neeson feels refreshingly genuine. With Andy Cohen’s enthusiastic blessing and both actors openly embracing each other’s company, fans have plenty to cheer about both on and off the red carpet. Whether this is the start of a deeper romance or simply a delightful chapter in two storied careers, one thing’s for sure: we’re all very much stanning whatever this is.
