A case of mistaken identity led the internet to believe that American actor Wyatt Russell was present at the ICE protests in L.A. A viral video of the actor's lookalike has been making waves around the internet. The 1:30-minute-long video was initially posted on TikTok by a user called @only__loo.

The video started spreading to other platforms and was reposted on X by @RyanShead. They captioned the video:

"Kurt Russell’s son Wyatt speaks out against what is happening right now in Los Angeles. Maybe a few ICE agents heard what he had to say," which added more to the confusion.

The video featured a young man who resembled the Thunderbolts actor, giving a speech. He was addressing the ICE agents, saying that they should be fighting on the people's side and not along with the "fascists" who are in the White House. The video reached the American left-wing media outlet, Occupy Democrats, which posted the video on threads with the misleading caption:

"Actor Kurt Russell’s son Wyatt just scolded Trump’s National Guard TO THEIR FACES in Los Angeles!"

The news has reached Wyatt Russell's team, and his publicist, Bryna Rifkin of Narrative PR, confirmed that it is not the actor in the video. She clarified:

"This is indeed not Wyatt Russell, and we have been working to try and correct the mis-identification."

Wyatt Russell was not at the ICE protests in L.A.

In addition to the statement provided by Bryna Rifkin, who is Wyatt Russell's publicist. It should be noted that the former professional hockey player has been quiet on social media. His official Instagram page has not been active for over a year. His last post dates back to January 31, 2024. He has not been active on Instagram stories either. He has not commented on the ongoing protests against ICE or Trump's deployment.

Coming back to the video, where netizens thought the man speaking to ICE agents was Wyatt Russell. The man in the video has yet to be identified, but netizens heard his message loud and clear. Comments from posts have revealed that netizens do not care if it is the Thunderbolt's actor or not; it does not "delegitimize" his words because he is right.

In the video, the man can be heard saying:

"Your assault rifles and your sticks? You should be standing here with us. You should be standing here with us! You’re on the wrong side of history. We know you got a job to do. But you took an oath to the Constitution, not the fascists in the White House! Think about what you’re doing now, think about what this means, coming into our community."

He continued:

"Peaceful f**king community, people working their jobs. They send in men in military fatigues, weapons of war, into our community. And you stand here and you allow it. I'm sick and tired of it. You should be sick and tired of it. Do you think any of these people in the White House sending you these commands give a f**k about you? Not one of them do."

The video ended with the man posing a question to the military. He said:

"Think about your place in history ladies and gentlemen. Ask yourself when you wake up tomorrow. I don't know if you have kids, ask yourself the future you want for your children. Is it this? Do you feel good about this?"

While the man in the video was initially identified as Wyatt Russell, his publicist has confirmed that they are trying to correct the misidentification. On the other side, the majority of netizens are siding with the unknown man, supporting him in the comments for speaking the truth.
