For days, actress Tara Reid has been at the centre of a story that spread quickly online after she said she was drugged at a hotel bar near Chicago. The “American Pie” star was taken to a hospital late one night in late November after an employee at a hotel near O’Hare Airport called emergency services, saying she seemed disoriented and could barely stay awake. Reid later shared that she believed something was put into her drink and that she couldn’t remember much of what happened after her first glass of wine.

The incident received attention due to the presence of a renowned Hollywood name, a dramatic overnight visit to a hospital, and social media talk of drink safety. A video surfaced online, which showed the hotel staff guiding Reid out of the hotel and into the hospital. Many people broadcast their own opinions and concerns about drink tampering. But as the details unraveled, the official findings didn't exactly meet the fear and uncertainty that went viral.

Police Close Investigation Into Tara Reid Drugging Claims

After viewing the footage and investigating the claims with interviews, there was no evidence of drugs being put into her drink or anyone tampering with it. The video showed that the bartender indeed covered her glass when she left it unattended.

Officials also said they have not yet seen any hospital test results that show what, if any, substances were in Tara Reid’s system.

The police's conclusion has not stopped people on the internet from talking about the situation. Some came out to support Tara Reid's account, asking people to watch their drinks. Others pointed out discrepancies in her story of that night. Reid herself said she does not remember what transpired after the first drink and called it a harrowing experience, though the authorities simply said they only lacked evidence to corroborate her account.

In the end, the case is a reminder of how fast stories can spread and how crucial evidence is when it comes to determining what really occurred. For now, the official stance is that there is no confirmed proof Reid’s drink was tampered with, and without new information, that is where the matter stands.
