Shia LaBeouf recently made headlines following the sharing of a personal exchange of emails between him and actor Timothée Chalamet. The emails were shared in a bid to put an end to rumors about a feud between the two. This followed an earlier interview in which some perceived LaBeouf to have made a disparaging remark concerning Chalamet.

The exchange via email was in October 2023. Chalamet commended LaBeouf's work on stage in the play Henry Johnson at Venice, California's Electric Lodge, in his email. LaBeouf also returned the compliments with kind words because there was evident mutual respect among the actors.

By posting the emails, LaBeouf attempted to squash any buzz that they were on bad terms. He said that his previous comments were intended to be critical of himself, not Chalamet.

“Timothée Chalamet is doing better work than anyone alive - we been good” said Shia LaBeouf

Timothée Chalamet sent Shia LaBeouf an email in October of 2023. Chalamet had recently witnessed LaBeouf acting in Henry Johnson, a play in Venice, California. Chalamet sent LaBeouf an email stating that he was "absolutely blown away" by his performance.

Chalamet also stated that he would like the play to be transferred to New York. He stated it would be the beginning of a stage career for LaBeouf and not something he would do for a one-time thing. He stated that the performance was "fantastic" and told LaBeouf to continue doing it.

LaBeouf, in his response, labeled Chalamet as "doggy," and that looked like a buddy tag. He appreciated the compliment and wished him "blessings." He also went on to say that it was enjoyable watching Chalamet mature as an actor over the years.

Earlier, before he shared the emails, LaBeouf had an interview that made some people think he was throwing shade at Chalamet. LaBeouf discussed how they both had similar acting ambitions. In his opinion, Chalamet's ambition looked "charming" on him but not on LaBeouf.

A few of his followers thought LaBeouf was claiming that Chalamet was fake or trying too hard. This gave rise to gossip that LaBeouf was jealous or upset at Chalamet's achievement. Others felt he was trying to condemn the way Chalamet acted.

Shia LaBeouf later said that he wasn't trying to cut down Chalamet. He made it clear that the remark was more about what he feels about himself. He went on to say, "Timothée Chalamet is doing better work than anyone alive," making it very clear that he respected him.

Shia LaBeouf's move to post his email exchange with Timothée Chalamet was intended to dispel rumors. While a previous interview fueled gossip of a feud, the messages indicated otherwise.

Chalamet's positive words regarding LaBeouf's performance and LaBeouf's warm response indicated that the two actors respect each other. LaBeouf also seized the opportunity to clarify that his previous comments were reflective of himself, not directed at Chalamet.
