The latest mystery horror from Barbarian (2022) director Weapons is firing up at the global box office. As of this writing, the movie has garnered $70 million and is getting better. If we break that down, $27.5 million has come from the United States, and the rest, $42.5 million, from the rest of the world.

Weapons is about some children who suddenly go missing one night, and then the people of that community try to uncover the mystery behind that. The film stars Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Benedict Wong, and more. Interestingly, all these names have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

The Zach Cregger film was made on a $38 million budget, and it seems like it will soon be profitable. It was also the top film at the domestic box office at the weekend, beating the likes of Freakier Friday, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, The Bad Guys 2, and more.

Warner Bros. has been looking good lately, with its recent films being massive successes. Brad Pitt starrer F1: The Movie, released on June 27, 2025, has collected $570.6 million at the global box office. The film follows Sonny Hayes (Pitt), who is hired by his former teammate and friend Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) to join his team in the hope of winning one of nine Grands Prix in the year. Clashing with Weapons is still making money and made $2.8 million this weekend.

The recently released Superman, directed by James Gunn, is performing more or less the same as the David Corenswet-led film, which is being loved by global audiences. The film was released on July 11, 2025, and has earned $578.8 million at the global box office. $331.2 million came from the domestic market, and $247.6 million came from international territories for this one.

Earlier this April, Warner Bros. released Ryan Coogler's Sinners, where he again collaborated with Michael B. Jordan, who was on double duty as Smoke and Stack. The film was a critical and commercial success and currently holds a 97% score at Rotten Tomatoes. On top of that, it earned over $365 million on a $90–100 million budget.

Out of all these films, Weapons had the lowest opening weekend, while Superman takes the top spot with a $125 million opening, followed by F1: The Movie ($57 million) and Sinners ($48 million).

The Fantastic Four: First Steps lost its footing and slipped to number three this weekend with $15.5 million. All in all, it has earned $434.2 million as of writing.

The Naked Gun, where Liam Neeson carried the legacy of the popular spoof comedy franchise, was in the top ten this weekend alongside Jurassic World: Rebirth, Together, and Sketch.
