Charlie Sheen has revealed that he hasn’t been speaking with his Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer.

The two actors had a fallout following Sheen’s public struggles with drug addiction, which led to his firing from the show in 2011.

Now, the 60-year-old is reflecting on his past in his memoir, The Book of Sheen (releasing on September 9, 2025), and his Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, which premieres on September 10, 2025. The documentary features Jon Cryer, among other family and friends of Sheen.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, ahead of the release of his documentary and memoir, the actor told the outlet,

"The only person I didn't call personally to participate in the doc was Jon, and the only reason I didn't call him was because I didn't have the right number for him, so the director reached out to him."
"But when I saw everything that Jon spoke about, so honestly and very compassionately, I wrote to him and I said, 'Hey, thank you for your contributions, and I'm sorry we didn't connect personally. I hope to see you around the campus.'"

However, Sheen revealed that he didn't hear back from the actor, which was unlike him. He said,

"I'm thinking I wrote to the wrong number. It's not like Jon did not respond. He's super responsible like that. So if you're reading this, Jon, DM me your new number!"

Sharing his thoughts on what Cryer said in the documentary, Sheen said,

“It was really cool to hear from [Cryer’s] perspective. He was in the line of fire with all that stupid s*** going on, and it was affecting him and his family and his career and all that. I can’t debate anything that he said.”

For those unaware, Cryer had revealed during an interview in 2015 that Sheen called him "a traitor, a turncoat, and a troll."

What happened between Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer in 2011?

In 2011, Charlie Sheen was fired from the hit sitcom, Two and a Half Men, due to his drug addiction, erratic behavior, and verbal attacks on the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre. This caused a major rift between Sheen and his co-star, Jon Cryer.

During his appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show in 2015, Cryer revealed that he was hurt by his former castmate’s words during the 2011 fallout. Cryer said in the interview that he was in the process of drafting a public statement of support for Charlie Sheen when his publicist informed him what he had called him. Cryer said:

“The day he got fired my publicist said, 'Well, do you want to put out a public statement because you guys were so close?'”

He added:

“And I was in the midst of writing the public statement - 'it’s been an honor to work with Charlie all these years' - when my publicist said, 'Oh wait, oh wait. It’s just come over the wire. He’s called you 'a traitor, a turncoat and a troll.' And I was like, 'OK, let’s put a pin in that statement of support.’”

In 2020, Cryer told PeopleTV's Couch Surfing that he and Sheen had a great relationship in the early years, but when his marriage to Denise Richards ended, he started using drugs again. He said:

“At first he could handle it, and he was still incredibly professional - and still lovely, by the way, to everybody on set - but you could just see that stuff was wearing on him.”

In his recent interview with People Magazine, Sheen admitted his fault that time. He said:

“I regret that specifically still. If I hadn't done what I had, I could be living a different life right now. All my problems wouldn't be what they are. But you just don't know that.”

Sheen has reportedly been sober since 2017. He appeared in Two and a Half Men for eight seasons until his firing in 2011. He was later replaced by Ashton Kutcher as the new lead for the ninth season. Kutcher starred opposite Cryer until the series ended in 2015.

In a February 2024 interview, while sending his best wishes and “good health” to Charlie Sheen, Cryer said that he doesn’t want to do business with him in the future as Sheen’s words have deepened the divide between the two former co-stars.
