Christopher Nolan was named the president of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) on September 20, 2025, during the DGA’s Biennial National Convention, according to Deadline.
The Oppenheimer director was unanimously elected by 167 delegates, who represent over 19,500 Guild members. He succeeds Lesli Linka Glatter, who served as the president of the DGA and was first elected in 2021.

Calling it as “one of the greatest honors of my career,” Nolan said in his speech:
“Our industry is experiencing tremendous change, and I thank the Guild’s membership for entrusting me with this responsibility. I also want to thank President Glatter for her leadership over the past four years. I look forward to collaborating with her and the newly elected Board to achieve important creative and economic protections for our members.”
