Ego Nwodim talks about what's next for her as she opens up about her departure from SNL.

It has been a ground-shaking season for SNL as the beloved show sees the departure of quite a few prominent actors, including Heidi Gardner, Devin Walker, Ego Nwodim, Michael Longfellow, and, just announced this week, Bowen Yang.
However, with all these season departures, it doesn't mean that the actors don't have big plans for their future after the show.
Ego Nwodim talks next chapter
In an exclusive with PEOPLE magazine, Nwodim discussed her upcoming projects. She expressed her excitement,
"I'm so excited for the future. This feels very exciting. I’m over the moon. Lots of things to get my fingers in, lots of muscles to flex and develop — and that feels super exciting.”
While sharing details about some of the work that she will set out to do.
"So the podcast [Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim] is one thing that has been really fun to do. You can listen to it anywhere you get your podcast. I'm in Mindy Kaling's NSFW [Not Suitable for Work] that will be premiering soon enough. Such a fun cast. I'm in Little Brother for Netflix, which will be coming out sometime in 2026. We had a ball shooting that one — that was like summer camp for us,”
Clearly, Ego Nwodim is booked and busy and has her work cut out for her, post-SNL buzz. However, she also fondly recalled her time on the show,
"The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL. I am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship." She wrote on her Instagram post on September 12.
She concluded, "Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always ✨🙏🏾😘. Now invite me to your weddings please!!!"
Nwodim was best known for her iconic character “Lisa from Temecula." She joined the network show for its 44th season in 2018 and was promoted to the main cast in 2020.
