As a joke, he decided to get T-shirts printed saying Tricky Ricky AKA Jim Jones Is A Trick on the front. On the back, he listed the names of their friends who were incarcerated implying that Jones should be sending them money instead of spending it on his girlfriend. He had people in the studio wear them but Jim Jones took it as a mark of disrespect. In 2017 during an Instagram Live session, Cam’ron admitted to his mistake and said:“I was dead wrong for this. This is where everything went all the way downhill.”He described it as a joke that Jim Jones took seriously, adding:“It was just a joke. He took that sh** serious. And to this day, I be man enough. I apologized about doing that, I really do apologize.”According to reports, Jones and Lampkin remain in a relationship after their engagement and have been together for decades. However, they are not married nor do they have any children. After Jones and Cam’s original beef, the duo made several reconciliation attempts but failed to get their friendship back on track. For instance, in 2010 they briefly reconciled during the release of their single titled Salute but the peace didn’t last.In 2016, Cam’ron released Oh Yeah as a collaboration featuring him and Juelz Santana which disappointed Jones. He reportedly co-wrote the verses along with the two and called Cam out for deliberately removing his verses in the track. Taking to Instagram, he called him out and wrote:“Somebody ask Cameron why he clearly took my verse of this song tht we all recorder in his house bout a year n half ago and then so quick to tell th world he doesn’t know why dipset not getting back together to do a album..”Jones and Cam’ron had a long history as childhood friends and co-founders of Dipset but their multiple attempts at reconciliation have always remained unsuccessful. Jones recently confirmed he has not spoken to Cam'ron since their 2021 Verzuz battle. He also stated that a reunion is unlikely in the near future.
