Joshua Daniel Hartnett, or popularly referred to as Josh Hartnett, was in a car accident a few days ago. According to reports from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Hartnett was a passenger in a car that collided with a patrol car of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) last Thursday (September 25).
The accident occurred in St. John's city around 1:00 a.m., and according to the reports from the RNC, there was:
"significant damage to both of the vehicles involved."
Additionally, the RNC statement also said:
"The 59-year-old male driver and the 47-year-old male passenger of the SUV were sent to hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries. The male officer went to hospital as a precaution."
While Josh Hartnett suffered minor injuries, his representative, Susan Patricola, shared the good news on USA Today, saying the actor was:
"looked at and then released back to work."
What is Josh Hartnett currently working on?
Josh Hartnett is currently engaged in filming a six-episode limited series with Netflix, whose title has yet to be announced. The show is created by Jesse McKeown, and Newfoundland is chosen as the setting and filming spot of the show.
Additionally, one of Josh Hartnett's films, Fight or Flight, was released this year. It was directed by James Madigan and is the director's feature film debut. He was the protagonist, playing the role of Lucas Reyes.
Another movie Hartnett starred in will be released next year. The film, Verity, is based on a novel by Colleen Hoover and will be released on October 2, 2026. Hartnett plays the role of the male protagonist in the book, Jeremy Crawford.
As for his television roles, the actor was a part of The Bear cast, where he plays the role of Frank. While the series is still ongoing, Josh appeared in only two episodes of the series, namely 'Bear' and 'Violet.'
While Josh Hartnett has been cleared to return to work, the accident is still under investigation. According to the RNC statement, they asked those who were witnesses to the collision to help with the investigation. They also shared their phone number so that the public who might have any information can contact them. They wrote:
"RNC collision analysts are seeking any witnesses or video footage (CCTV, dash-camera, cell phone) from the area in the lead up to, or immediately following the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000."
