Junior Edwards has been making headlines after his recent passing, which was confirmed by his grandson, Lil Willie Edwards, on Facebook on July 26, 2025. He was known for his appearance on the History Channel show, Swamp People. Many of his co-stars, including Ashley "Deadeye" Jones and Ronnie Adams, have mourned his death.

He is survived by his immediate family, including his son, Willie Edwards, and his grandson, “Lil” Willie Edwards. His other son, Randy Edwards, passed away in September 2018, as per a report in WAFB9.

Randy appeared on the Swamp People alongside his father, Junior Edwards, and his brother Willie Edwards. His obituary stated that he was “a pipefitter and fisherman; resident and native of Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana."

The death of Junior Edwards’ son, Randy Edwards, shook his fans and co-stars. Edwards passed away on September 15, 2018, in a car accident in Louisiana.

According to a report in The Advocate, his death occurred while driving on LA 75 south of LA 3066, when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, which caused his vehicle to strike a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 35 at that time.

The Swamp People star, Ronnie Adams, took to Junior Edwards and his wife Theresa’s Facebook page to break the news. He wrote:

“Ronnie Here. It is in deep sadness that I make this post. Junior and Theresa's son, Willie's brother, Randy passed away in a vehicle accident early this morning. Randy was 35. Please keep the Edwards family in your prayers and also please respect their privacy at this time.”

His obituary added that he was survived by his wife, Terri Edwards; children, Nathan Winters, Randy Edwards, II, and Sierra Edwards; parents, William “Junior” and Theresa Edwards; brothers, William “Willie” Edwards III and his wife, Sherrie, and their kids. It added:

“Randy was an amazing father, a loving and caring son who was devoted to his family. His bond was one of a kind and unbreakable with his brother and sister. He loved to work, hunt and fish. He never met a stranger and touched many lives.”

Collider reported that he was the youngest son of Junior and Theresa Edwards. He often accompanied his brother William “Willie” Edward and his father on hunting trips. He was deeply involved in the Louisiana swamp community, as per the outlet.

Before his death, fans lost another Swamp People member, Mitchell Guist, in 2012, who passed away after slipping and falling off a boat.
