Soon Dennis’s secret comes to light. Dennis does not have a twin; rather, he began following Roman because he knew Rocky. Dennis had a sexual encounter with Rocky after which he got immensely attached to him. Rocky, on the other hand, did not share the feeling, which irked Dennis. One day, Dennis witnessed Rocky with another man.

He got furious and tried to confront Rocky. As Rocky tried to cross the road to reach Dennis, a car struck him. He was killed instantly. Roman was unaware of it all. Now, Roman was also suffering from anger issues. He often found it difficult to control his anger and lashed out. Seeing Roman’s anger, Dennis got scared. It stopped him from revealing the truth.

Slowly, it was becoming more and more difficult for Dennis to hide the truth from Roman. One day, while spending time together, he decided to tell the truth to Roman. Roman got furious and punched Dennis in the face. Their friendship was completely shattered. Roman truly had found a friend in Dennis; hence, this betrayal was too much for him.

The fact that Dennis was also somewhat connected to Rocky’s death added fuel to the fury. However, at the end of the movie, things change for both of them. Though Dennis and Roman do not reconcile, there is a level of peace among them. In the ending scene of Twinless, Dennis and Roman meet at an eatery. Roman asks Dennis about his hand. He then tells him about his promotion. Though there was a level of awkwardness, each of them understood that their friendship had ended. They knew things could not be mended.

Each of them tried to have small talk. However, it only ended with more awkward silences. Roman apologized for attacking Dennis and then asked if they would have been friends if they had met under different circumstances. This shows that Roman truly considered Dennis a true friend. The movie ends with each of them asking the waiter to pack the food in a to-go box. For Dennis, this meeting was a chance to begin fresh.

Throughout their friendship, Dennis hid his truth. If only he had communicated the whole truth to Roman, things would have been completely different for them. For Roman, this meeting serves as a step towards forgiving Dennis and also himself. He understands his own troubles and is ready to get a fresh start as well.

The ending of Twinless is not a clean one, but rather a realistic one that we often see in the real world. This movie depicts the difficulties people face and the extent they are ready to go to feel connected. Loneliness can become a triggering point, making people do things they would not have done if the situation were favorable. Both Dennis and Roman were victims of their situations. The ending of the movie truly leaves a lasting impact.
