Lena Dunham expressed her strong support for Travis Kelce after attending the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Houston Texans on December 7 at Arrowhead Stadium alongside Taylor Swift.

She shared an Instagram post wearing Chiefs gear and captioned it, noting Taylor Swift's “sports era” while declaring the Chiefs her “first home team” despite being a New Yorker living in London. In a nod to Swift, she wrote:

“She’s in her sports era.”

She directly addressed Kelce, writing "Love you @killatrav," signaling her affection and endorsement.

Sharing a carousel of pictures, including her long-time producing partner, Dunham referred to him as her “forever home boy.” During the game, Dunham and Swift were also joined by Selena Gomez. All about Lena Dunham's friendship with Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham began their friendship online a decade ago when Dunham publicly praised her Red album on Twitter (now X).

Her post read,

“Update: [tagged Taylor Swift] album is triumphant. If she'd been here when I was in college I would have written papers on her, not Sylvia Plath.”

Her humble words prompted Swift to respond positively to Dunham’s show Girls. She tweeted,

“you made my day with that. I’m now going to sit in my dressing room reciting my fav ‪@girlsHBO quotes.. Which is all of them.”

Lena Dunham then sent Swift a direct message and the two became friends. After connecting online, they met at the 2013 Grammys. Ever since then, their bond has deepened, with the best friends being spotted on various public events, vacationing together, and even supporting each other.

Dunham has previously revealed that she has been a fan of hers since her first song, Teardrops on My Guitar. She was quoted in an interview saying,

“I’ve been obsessed with Taylor Swift since her first song. ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ was the first one I became familiar with, but I think she’s been a fully formed creative voice since she was 15 and really does sing my story.”

Dunham reportedly joined Swift on her 1989 World Tour onstage at the MetLife Stadium show in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Her appearance was part of a renactment of Bad Blood music video.

During an interview with The New Yorker, Dunham talked about how protective she is of the “Karma” singer. She said:

“I’m always very careful to be protective of her in every single way. Probably the two things I get asked most in life are “What is Taylor like?” and “Can I have tickets to the Eras Tour?” And usually my answer to both things is no, but I will say that she’s everything that you would want her to be. She’s kind, she’s devoted, she’s introspective, she’s emotional, she’s funny as f**k.”

Page Six reported that Taylor Swift was the guest of honor and a bridesmaid at Lena Dunham’s secret wedding to musician Luis Felber. The nuptials were held at the Union Club in London’s Soho.

Although Swift didn’t perform at her wedding, she did raise a toast to the newlyweds alongside other friends like Tommy Dorfman and Jerrod Carmichael. Explaining her love for Dunham, Swift once told People magazine in an interview:

“It’s really wonderful to have someone like Lena Dunham in my life. We have the same responsibility and the same pressure that’s on you when you write every single word you end up performing.”

According to The New Yorker, Lena Dunham grew up in Tribeca, neighbourhood in New York. She is the daughter of the painter Carroll Dunham, and the photographer and the filmmaker, Laurie Simmons.

Dunham is famously known as the creator of HBO Comedy series, Girls. The show, inspired from Dunham’s own experiences, followed the lives of four young women in New York City.
