Reality TV personality Mickey Lee, whose real name is Michaela Chalon Lee, is currently in the ICU in a critical but stable condition after suffering a “series of cardiac arrests” from flu-related complications.

The announcement was made on her Instagram account, where details of a fundraiser were also included.

Lee, 35, is an event curator who appeared as a houseguest on the 27th season of Big Brother earlier this year.

Amid her hospitalization, an individual named Kori Smith launched a GoFundMe to help with Mickey’s medical journey. So far, it has raised $18,410 against the goal of $22,000 from 452 donations.

“This sudden health crisis has left Mickey and her family facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills, to ongoing care and recovery costs,” the fundraiser description read.

It also mentioned that Mickey Lee is currently surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones who are taking good care of her. However, the road ahead is “long and challenging,” and they need help to keep up with the expenses.

All you need to know about Mickey Lee

Mickey Lee was born on March 31, 1990, in Jacksonville, Florida, and is now based out of Atlanta, Georgia. She has 26,200 Instagram followers.

Nicknamed ‘The Micktator,’ she spent two months on this year’s Big Brother (US) and became the closest ally of Rachel Reilly. Her other alliances were The Melting Pot, Peach Cobbler, Tea Party, and Triple Threat. On the 8th week, she was eliminated from the house by a 6-1 vote and finished in 10th place.

Speaking to Parade earlier this year, Mickey Lee spoke about her event-curation career.

“I have literally done the most girliest things, as well as the roughest things, from ROTC to heck, planning birthday parties and whatever else you could think of. I dominate in a city that is full of men. I have to do a lot of business with them and dominate easily…” she said.

She called her invitation to Big Brother a “once in a lifetime opportunity,” adding she was both “nervous” and “excited” to be a part of the popular reality show on CBS Network.

Lee also candidly discussed her strengths, weaknesses, strategies, and more.

Following her stint on Big Brother, Mickey Lee became a guest panellist on the 4th episode of Big Brother: Unlocked in September 2025, where she reflected on her time on the show.

According to her alternative Instagram profile, Mickey In the City, she is a lifestyle curator who primarily organizes concerts and food-based events. Her business is called The Mingle Experience.

The recent GoFundMe describes Mickey Lee as a “vibrant, strategic, and unforgettable personality” who captured attention with her “energy, authenticity, and bold gameplay” on BB.

“She brought charm and fierce competition to the Big Brother house as an event curator and creative force,” it added.

The fundraiser aims to cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, ICU and specialist care, rehab and recovery support, and miscellaneous costs such as family travel and lodging.

“Today, we’re coming together with heavy hearts to ask for your support… Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Mickey’s care and help ease the burden on her loved ones during this difficult time,” the description reads.

Chanel Hill-McElfresh is named as the beneficiary. The GoFundMe page has urged the community to donate, amplify, and send prayers, positive energy, and healing thoughts for Mickey Lee.

“Mickey has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on Big Brother. Let’s show her the same love and support now when she needs it most. Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support,” the message concluded.

One of Lee’s last posts before the medical emergency was on the season finale of Big Brother when she wrote:

“The Micktator lived, laughed, blinked, and left her mark … and what a ride it’s been. Tonight it all comes to an end, but the memories, the growth, and the love I’ve felt from all of you will stay with me forever.”

Giving a shoutout to her fans, friends, and family members, Mickey added:

“From the edits to the messages to the endless support, y’all made this journey even more special. Thank you for seeing me, rooting for me, and rocking with me every step of the way. This may be the finale, but it’s only the beginning of what’s next.”

Ashley Hollis was declared the winner of the season.
