As news broke of the shocking death of wrestling legend Terry Gene Bollea, best known by his ring name Hulk Hogan, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, tributes from fans and fellow wrestlers poured in from around the world.
The US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to pay his tributes to Hulk. He wrote:
''We lost a great friend today, the 'Hulkster.' Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way -- Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week.''
He continued:
''He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!''
Tributes pour in for Hulk Hogan
The two-time WWE Hall of Famer died in the early hours on Thursday, his family announced his death in a statement on social media. As per ABC News, they said:
''It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades.''
World Wrestling Entertainment also paid its tributes. They said:
''WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.''
Last year, Hulk surprised everyone by showing up at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. According to Business Standard, he openly supported Donald Trump’s presidential run. He also had ripped off his shirt like he used to in wrestling, which got the crowd excited. He also told the audience:
''When Trump’s back in the White House, America will start winning again.''
Other than his great achievements in the wrestling field, Hulk also starred in movies and TV shows like Thunder in Paradise, Rocky III, and Suburban Commando. He was also the first wrestler to become a global pop culture icon, and was popular for his catchphrases like “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?!”
Ric Flair, the former wrestler and the rival and friend of Hulk, also took to social media to pay his tributes. He wrote:
''I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan ! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be.''
He continued:
'' He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend! 🙏🏻''
Hulk was 71 at the time of his death, and he will be remembered as one of the most iconic and influential figures in professional wrestling history.
