More about Randy Couture's car crash
While preparing to make the NHRA debut, the UFC Hall of Famer got into a grave car crash during practice. Randy had spent months practising; however, on Tuesday, he got into trouble when his car crashed and he had to be airlifted for treatment.
The details of how he got into the car crash have not been disclosed yet, although the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion is expected to recover. Sources close to ESPN shared about his condition, and they said that the 'initial hope and belief' is that he would recover.
In an Instagram post last month, Couture expressed what he thinks about racing. In the video, he said that race car driving is a "completely different animal".
He then added, saying:
"I've been a fan of racing for 12, 13 years. From up in the stands, it looks really easy. Oh, they just go fast … it's so much more involved."
Couture is also a multiple-time Greco-Roman national champion who has fought in 16 UFC title fights. After retiring from fighting, Couture successfully transitioned to acting. In 2008, he starred in the film The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior, and then in the 2010 action film The Expendables, where he played the role of Toll Road.
