Wendy Williams arrived at the NYFW red carpet dressed in a LaQuan Smith piece. The big houndstooth-patterned fur coat she had on was from the designer's Fall/Winter '25 collection. When she was asked how she feels about dressing up for NYFW, the former media personality said:
"A zillion dollars," while smiling at the cameras.
When asked about her look for the night, Williams also responded by saying that she is wearing:
"Head-to-toe LaQuan."
Williams had her hair styled in a middle part, letting her blonde locks fall in waves. Her makeup was done glamorously, her eyeshadow looked like a shade of icy blue paired with a touch of pink gloss on her lips.
Wendy Williams steps away from The Wendy Williams Show: Reasons visited
Williams stopped hosting The Wendy Williams Show in 2022 after a series of health issues. The show lasted for 13 seasons, but towards the end, guest hosts had to be brought in because Wendy had to take weeks off from work.
The Wendy Williams Show began in 2008, and the public was already familiar with Williams because of her radio show, The Wendy Williams Experience.
Before the show aired, she said in an interview with The New York Times, she said:
"People that I've talked to regarding the TV show, they're asking: Who are your guests going to be? Am I nervous to go out there? What do you think America's going to say? I'm not overconfident. It's just that I'm not caught up in that. What will be, will be. The die is cast. I can't be anybody but me."
Last year, Williams' representatives revealed that the former talk show host was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The latter is a disease that affects speech, personality, and behavior. While the former can affect the patient's speech and communication skills.
After The Wendy Williams Show concluded, she appeared on a documentary that details her life after leaving the talk show. The documentary titled Where Is Wendy Williams? was released in 2024 and is filmed in four episodes.
The trailer of the show revealed how Wendy felt about the documentary. She said:
"All I know is how to be famous... I really want to be back on television."
Before the show ended, Wendy also faced a lot of controversy for the remarks she made about certain people. Two years before the show ended, she made a remark on the gay community, saying:
"stop wearing our skirts and our heels."
Later on, she apologized in a now-deleted tweet, writing:
"I'll start by saying, I apologize. I did not mean to offend my LGBTQ+ community on yesterday’s show... I'm very persnickety about how I do my show and one thing I can tell you right now, is that I never do the show in a place of malice."
The last episode of the show was on June 17, 2022.
Williams' presence at NYFW shows that even after stepping away from daytime television, she continues to embrace the spotlight with style and confidence. Her LaQuan Smith look was a bold statement for one of the biggest nights in fashion.
