The long-running case of Jeffrey Epstein has taken a new turn as birthday letters written to him by high-profile individuals, including filmmaker and actor Woody Allen, and photos from his Manhattan mansion have resurfaced.

These letters and photographs were published by the New York Times in its August 5, 2025, report. It stated that the friends of Jeffrey Epstein sent him letters as a gift for his 63rd birthday in 2016. The report specifically mentioned messages from Allen, former prime minister of Israel Ehud Barak, and his wife; billionaire Mortimer Zuckerman, Noam Chomsky and his wife, among others, in the collection.

In his letter to Epstein, Allen wrote that he and his then-wife, Soon-Yi Previn, had been invited to his dinner parties “many times,” describing them as “always interesting.” He noted that the parties included “politicians, scientists, teachers, magicians, comedians, intellectuals, journalists” and “even royalty”.

Here is what Woody Allen wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in his letter?

In his letter addressed to Jeffrey Epstein, on his 63rd birthday, Woody Allen reminisced about the dinner at his Upper East Side townhouse. Recalling the royal gatherings which witnessed many elite personalities from the industry, he wrote that there were “plenty of choices” in dinners which were “well served.” He added:

“I say well served – often it’s by some professional houseman and just as often by several young women reminding one of Castle Dracula where Lugosi has three young female vampires who service the place.”

He further mentioned in his letter that the first time he and his wife were invited to his mansion, the gathering also included several men and women from journalism, TV, and even royalty.

Ehud Barak, former prime minister of Israel, and his wife noted the diversity of guests invited to his parties. He wrote in his message, compiled with others in 2016:

“There is no limit to your curiosity. You are like a closed book to many of them but you know everything about everyone.”

According to a report in The Guardian, images from his office, located in his royal residence, showed a picture of a taxidermied tiger and a green first-edition copy of Lolita, the controversial 1955 novel by Vladimir Nabokov. The book centres around a middle-aged man’s obsession with a 12-year-old girl.

The report added that surveillance cameras were installed in his bedroom and an adjoining room. His massage room, where his victims alleged that Epstein sexually assaulted them, consisted of paintings of naked women, shelves with lubricant, a large silver ball, and a chain.

His house featured Epstein’s photographs with associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Other pictures were with notable figures such as Pope John Paul II, Mick Jagger, Elon Musk, Fidel Castro, Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Richard Branson, Saudi Arabia's crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, and former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon.

His entryway featured framed prosthetic eyeballs and a suspended sculpture of a bride dangling from a rope in a central atrium.

The unsettling interiors and the bizarre letters give a hint of the atmosphere at Epstein’s mansion. This has fueled speculation about what must have happened inside his royal residence.
