Jurassic Park is among those franchises that do not have a prequel or a spin-off film yet. And the most important thing is that its release order of its films is basically its chronology. To that end, the latest installment in the franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth, is a continuation of the story and picks up the events of Jurassic World Dominion.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, who will be the lead. Joining her in the story are Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, and more. It's set for a release on July 2, 2025, and Universal Pictures is distributing it.

As we all know that humans and dinosaurs share this world, we will also see some new and mutated creatures like Mutadons and Distortus rex in the film. The last film in the franchise also saw some familiar faces like Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, but they won't be in this upcoming movie.

The Scarlett Johansson-led film is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion.

Jurassic World Dominion was the third film in the Jurassic World franchise and the sixth in the Jurassic Park franchise and brought the leads, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), back from the previous two films.

It follows the aftermath of Lockwood Estate and now humans and dinosaurs share the same land, as the prehistoric creatures aren't confined in a park for people's amusement.

In Jurassic World Rebirth, these creatures will dwell in remote places now, unlike the scenes in the previous film. According to the film's synopsis,

"Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind."

We can't say if Jurassic World Rebirth will bring us any sequels, as its creators haven't announced it yet. However, given the fact that the past films have continued the story in sequels, the chances of it are high.

While there is no prequel or spin-off film in this franchise, we still have a prequel TV series to Jurassic World (2015) called Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous. Like Predator: Killer of Killers, the events there are set before, during, and after the 2015 film.

This TV show has a sequel too, called Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, which is set before and during Jurassic World Dominion. Taking this into account, here's how the chronology of Jurassic Park franchise goes.

  • Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous
  • Jurassic World: Chaos Theory
  • Jurassic Park (1993)
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
  • Jurassic Park III (2001)
  • Jurassic World (2015)
  • Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
  • Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
  • Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
