When will Materialists be available for streaming? Speculations explored

The Past Lives writer-director returns with Materialists, another tender romantic film about a love triangle set in New York. It stars Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans as three people who try to figure out what they mean to each other. Judging by the trailers, it seems like another profoundly dramatic affair that analyses the nature of romantic relationships in the modern age.

This romantic comedy film is produced by 2 AM and Killer Films. It arrived in theaters on June 13, 2025, with A24 handling the US distribution while Sony Pictures handled the global distribution. It received widely positive reviews and an 87% Rotten Tomatoes rating. While it is still running in the theaters, some people might want to know when it will be available online. Right now, the only way to watch this Dakota Johnson starrer is in a movie theater. So, you will need to wait to watch this film online. Since it is an A24 film, it will be available to stream on Max, according to the indie studio's exclusive deal with Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023, which brings all of A24's theatrical releases to this streamer.

“While I was a matchmaker, I was asking my clients to describe their ideal partner and the answers were all numbers: height, weight, income, age… While I understood why they were asking for those things, I knew from being in love myself that that’s just not at all what love is about or feels like. So [making this] movie was about [striking] the balance between the practical and the fantasy of true love."
