1) London

A large chunk of the film was shot in London, England. Its shooting began in the city mainly because Hollywood production gets a 20% tax deduction. The interior shots of classrooms of Yale classrooms and Walgreens pharmacy, among others, were created on sound stages in the city. The story takes place at Yale University, but the makers didn't shoot it inside the university.

2) Cambridge

Besides London, Cambridge was the second most important filming location for After the Hunt. The exterior shots of Yale were created in Cambridge, with the makers taking care of the architectural details. Several portions were recreated at England's Shepperton Studios.

"On the one hand, because we had to do it in London, but we really wanted to make sure that we could legitimately say “this is Yale”. So, my Production Designer, Stefano Baisi, went to New Haven, to Yale, to Upper East Side as well in New York to study the environment, to understand the place, to record with his camera as much as he could of the real places. And so we took the decision that some of these places had to be recreated in a sort of absolutely ‘perfectly replicated’ version."

He further said that certain specific locations of the university were then recreated for the film.

"So we did that with the quad, we did that with the Beinecke Library Square…We did, that which means that we did that with all the sides of these of these areas, which makes you be immersed in Yale. We did that with the Downtown or or the Waterfront of New Haven. We also did that with some places that happened to be existing in Yale, like the Three Sheets Bar or the Tandoor restaurant, the liquor store, pharmacy."
