The film is about a mother named Linda (Rose Byrne), and its synopsis, as per IMDb, reads:

The film has already premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, and it is currently holding a lustrous 95% score at the review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes. For her performance, Rose Byrne had already been nominated for four awards and had won all of them.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You was shot in New York City, where a couple of regions were chosen to film, which is why we are here, to discuss these two filming locations.

The first location used for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You is a census-designated place in New York called Montauk. The last census tells us that over 4k people are living here. The place has also been used by the US Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force to set up their base. While it is a small place, it is one major tourist destinations in the country.

Not many films have been shot here, but it is featured or mentioned in a few films. Most popularly, Montauk is mentioned in The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. If you haven't seen the movie, this isn't the typical Jim Carrey you will see in there.

If we discuss the region's mention in popular movies, it would be Steven Spielberg's Jaws (1975), where a character called Quint is from Montauk only. Other mentions of the location include Peeples (2013), Paper Man (2009), No Hard Feelings, and more.

The second of the two locations in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You is the famous Brooklyn in New York City. It is one of the popular regions for filmmakers, and we are always hearing the name every now and then.

Most recently, it was Spike Lee's latest collaboration with Denzel Washington, Highest 2 Lowest, that was shot here. The film is a modern take on the Akira Kurosawa film High and Low (1963), which itself is based on an Ed McBain novel called King's Ransom. Other than Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, ASAP Rocky, and more are in the film too.

Other notable films featuring Brooklyn include The Godfather (1972), Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), Babygirl (2024), Anora (2024), The Departed (2006), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Goodfellas (1990), Midsommar (2019), Spider-Man (2002), Requiem for a Dream (2000), and more.
