1) Isle of Portland, Dorset, England

The shooting of The Woman in Cabin 10 began at the Isle of Portland, which is a tidal island located in Dorset, England. The scene where the protagonist is approaching the cruise was shot at Portland Harbour in Weymouth. It is considered one of the largest artificial ports on this planet. Certain scenes were also shot at Hjørundfjorden, Norway, and Glen Affric, Scotland, while certain VFX scenes were captured at the Shepperton Studio.

2) Savannah

A large portion of the film takes place at the Aurora Borealis, which in reality is Savannah, a super yacht. The makers contacted a broker to find the right one that suited their requirements.

In an interview with CN Traveler, director Simon Stone said that it is difficult to create a fake sea. Hence, they opted to shoot on a real super yacht.

“The sea is a nightmare to fake with VFX [visual effects]. So any interaction between the characters and the sea would have cost so much to do. It was a purely pragmatic decision. The only thing we really needed to change was the number of cabins for story purposes, so we had to build the cabins and we designed some of the interior of the ship.”

The cast and crew even ended up spending nearly 14 hours in the sea during the shoot. They realized that shooting on a real yacht is more economical than building one from the ground up. Stone also compared her situation during the shoot with the film's protagonist, Laura.
