The shooting of the film encompasses two regions in Georgia, namely Athens and Bostwick. As revealed by Blumhouse, one of the production companies associated with the film, shooting took place last year in 2024. It commenced on April 26, 2024.

The choice of these filming locations seems to work wonders for the film, as it sets up an eerie, unsettling atmosphere that the script demanded. Along with this, the cinematography also captures the beauty of these locations, which enhances the emotional experience of the film.

1) Bostwick, Georgia

The outdoor shots of the film were primarily filmed in Bostwick, Georgia. A city located in Morgan County, Georgia, the serene vibe of the location blends well with the sinister quietness that the storyline needed, especially in regard to the idea of a deserted place where a grieving family is fighting their demons.

2) Athens, Georgia

Another key location for its filming was Athena Studios in Athens, Georgia. The Woman in the Yard made history by becoming a high-profile film to be shot in a studio of the area. Athena Studios provided adequate facilities including a top-notch sound system and an area of up to 84,000 square feet.

In a conversation with The Credits, Stephanie Allain, who has produced the film along with Jason Blum, talked about the shooting in Athens, according to Moviedelic. She said:

"I’ve shot there a lot. This was the first time I shot outside of Atlanta. Atlanta has become so groovy, so cool – a town with great art and restaurants. I love being there because it’s so integrated. Unlike L.A., it’s very cosmopolitan."
