Alice Brooks is the cinematographer of Wicked: For Good. Its shooting started in December 2022 and was about to wrap in July next year when the Hollywood strike happened. Its shooting then resumed, alongside Wicked, in January 2024 and ended on January 26. Here are the shooting locations:

1) Sky Studios Elstree

Most of the interior shots took place at the Sky Studios Elstree, Hertfordshire, where the miniature sets of the Emerald City were created. The sets of the Munchkinland were also created in the same location.

2) Ivinghoe Hills

The makers opted for the countryside as well as the Ivinghoe Hills locations for exterior scenes. Director Jon M. Chu opted for real-life practical effects and large-scale sets for the film by taking inspiration from the 1991 flick Hook. The team planted around nine million tulips around the set of Munchkinland. A Yellow Brick Road, as mentioned in the novel, was also created practically for the scenes.

3) Egypt

Besides the UK, certain portions of the film were also shot in Egypt. The team had a ten-day shooting schedule where they shot at the White Desert National Park. It was used to create the Land of Oz in certain sequences.

Production designer Nathan Crowley spoke to Architectural Digest about Kiamo Ko, a floating castle in the film.

“Defying gravity in architecture was a great way to launch into the second film. Could I create a castle in the sky? The big thing was trying to come up with someplace that belongs in the fantasy genre.”
