Eric Stonestreet had a double celebration on September 9, 2025. Whilst celebrating his 54th birthday, the Modern Family actor announced on Instagram that he had gotten married to his longtime girlfriend, Lindsay Schweitzer.

The newlywed shared a carousel of his wedding photos on Instagram with the caption:

“It’s my birthday, and guess what I got?”

The first photo showed the actor looking dapper in a dark suit and blue tie. In another photo, he holds hands with Schweitzer, who has her bridal bouquet and smiles. The couple shares a passionate kiss in the next slide and is photographed hugging in another.

Before Stonestreet began dating Schweitzer, he was linked to other Hollywood actresses, including Katherine Tokarz and Charlize Theron.

Stonestreet rose to fame after starring as Cameron Tucker in the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family. Katherine Tokarz met Stonestreet while performing in Rock of Ages, the Broadway musical. According to The Daily Mail, the actor expressed that women always assumed he was gay due to the character he portrayed in the Modern Family series:

"I kind of always felt like I had to dig myself out of a bit of a hole and let girls know that I'm actually straight. But she (Tokarz) was like, ‘Oh, I was watching ‘The View‘ and saw that you weren’t gay!’“

Stonestreet and Tokarz split in 2012 after dating for three years. After the breakup, Stonestreet was linked with Charlize Theron. A report by The Daily Mail alleged that Theron “has fallen for” Stonestreet and they were getting along “incredibly well.” The news outlet also claimed, "They started off as friends, but things are blossoming between them."

While Eric Stonestreet's representatives reportedly stated that the rumors were false, the actor hilariously tweeted:

'I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating. It's starting to make Halle Berry jealous.'

In 2015, a rumor existed that the actor was dating reality TV star Bethenny Frankel. The duo addressed rumors of their relationship when they appeared on an Watch What Happens Live episode with Andy Cohen. Stonestreet told Cohen that he and Frankel had decided to remain as friends.

Eric Stonestreet met Lindsay Schweitzer in 2016 and proposed to her in 2021.
