Who is Anastasia Katselas? Gogglebox star undergoes emergency surgery following cancer diagnosis

Anastasia Katselas is one of Australia's prominent reality television personalities. She has been on Gogglebox Australia from the very first season with her friend, Faye, and continues to be on the show. Gogglebox focuses on recording families' reactions to the "previous week's television from their own homes".

Recently, Katselas was in the hospital for an emergency surgery. The reality television star took to Instagram to reveal the sudden hospital visit in a video she posted last Friday (Aug. 22). She called her situation a "big scare," and captioned the video:

"Recovering after surgery. I’m. Fine. Very lucky. @cabrinihealth @drtommanolitsis @allmedicalwantirna thanks to @drgeorgetzimourtis thank you for looking after me so promptly. God saved me again. Thank you God 🙏🙏🙏," tagging her doctors and the health care providers.

Anastasia Katselas' health updates after emergency hospital visit

Anastasia Katselas posted a video on Instagram, updating her followers about her health after a recent hospital visit. The Australian reality television star said:

"I had a bit of a health scare. I went into hospital Tuesday, after I got diagnosed with cancer in my uterus. So, I had an emergency hysterectomy. I'm fine, I'm home now. I stayed at hospital Tuesday, Wednesday, came home Thursday. I'm fine, just a bit sore, recovering well. Was a big scare..."

She also had a message for all the women. She continued:

"Thank God they caught it early, and I’m fine. But I urge all you women, make sure that you do your Pap smears regularly. Don’t wait, don’t forget about it."

She also added a personal experience by saying:

"I used to do them regularly, and I think the last few years I didn't go. I can't remember the last time I went, and I happened to go to the doctor because I had a concern... they did a Pap smear, and lo and behold, a week later I'm in hospital."

Anastasia emphasized how she was doing, but added that she was also waiting for test results from the doctor. She concluded:

"I'm fine, as I said, I'm recovering. They said they caught it early, but I'm still waiting for the after-surgery tests. Hopefully, the doctor said that it didn't spread. So, hopefully, I'll be okay."

She closes the video by wishing her viewers goodnight.
