Arturo Gatti Jr., son of late boxing legend and Hall of Fame member Arturo Gatti, has passed away. The news was announced on Instagram on October 8, 2025, by his bodyguard, Chuck Zito. Sharing a carousel of his late client, the bodyguard wrote:

“It's with a heavy heart that I have to say, .... R.I.P. to 17-year-old ARTURO GATTI JR., who was found hanging in an apartment in Mexico yesterday. The same way they found his Father dead in an apartment in Brazil 16 years ago. My condolences to Arturo Gatti Seniors - Mom, Sisters, Brothers, and his daughter Sophia.”

Gatti Jr. was found dead in Mexico, where he resides. The deceased was seventeen when he passed.

Arturo was the son of boxing legend Arturo Gatti and Amanda Rodrigues. According to reports, he was a promising amature boxer who was set to become a professional soon. He was born in 2008 in Montreal and lost his father ten months later.

According to reports, Arturo Jr. discovered his interest in boxing at age six. Under the tutelage of coach Moe Latif, the youngster fought in amateur bouts and was on his way to becoming a professional. Young Gatti was also friends with boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Speculations are rife about the cause of Gatti’s death. His bodyguard, Chuck, alleged that his body was found hanging from an apartment, just like his late father. Gatti senior was found dead in a hotel in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil, on July 11, 2009.

His wife, Amanda Rodrigues, was arrested after she was charged with murder. She was released after autopsy reports were released, declaring Gatti’s death a suicide by hanging.

The World Boxing Council released a statement celebrating Gatti Jr.’s achievements. The council celebrated him as an emerging boxing star and mourned his passing.

“Son of the legendary Arturo 'Thunder' Gatti, a Hall of Fame inductee, Arturo Jr. had enthusiastically followed in his father’s footsteps, showing talent, discipline, and a passion for the sport that defined his family’s life.”

The WBC concluded its statement:

“Young Arturo Gatti Jr. represented the hope of a new era, with the fire, passion and heart of a champion. The WBC sends its heartfelt condolences to the Gatti family, friends, and the entire boxing community, mourning this heartbreaking loss.”
