Who is Austin Sosa? All about Jamie King’s Investment Banker fiance as couple get engaged amid actress’s custody battle

Jamie King has announced her engagement to her Investment Banker boyfriend, Austin Sosa.

An exclusive report by People magazine states that the actress was seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left ring finger as she exited Sally Hershberger Salon in West Hollywood, California, on July 7, 2025.

A source close to the outlet said that she shares a strong bond with Sosa’s family and was staying with his parents after moving out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year. The reports follow King finalizing her divorce from ex-husband Kyle Newman in September 2023. She has two sons with him – Jamie, 11, and Leo, 9.

King wore a white knit sweater, wide-leg denim pants, leather loafers, and chose to complete her look with oversized sunglasses. According to Austin Sosa’s LinkedIn profile, he is involved in investment banking and currently works as an Investor at a Family Office. He has a private Instagram account and graduated from Brigham Young University.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Jamie King has been staying with her boyfriend Austin Sosa’s family after her landlord, Sheila Irani, locked her out of her LA home for failing to pay $42K in rent in March.

It’s unclear when the couple will get married. Not much is known about Sosa because he is a private person who prefers to keep his affairs private. His LinkedIn profile states that he began working as a Private Equity Associate in 2016 at AltaLink Capital and then joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2017.

Later, he went on to work as a Private Equity Associate at SageLink Capital. In 2020, he joined Citi as an Investment Banker. He has been working as an Investor with Family Officer since 2023. King mentioned Austin Sosa in one of her Instagram posts.

In a post shared on June 8, 2025, where King uploaded a photo with her sons, she named them along with others, thanking them for being in her life. She wrote in the caption:

“My God, I am the luckiest and most great mother ever. Thank you to Pammy, Chase, Austin, Gwendolyn and Carlos. Family forever.”

King filed for divorce from her husband, Kyle Newman, in May 2020, according to a report in People magazine. They got married in 2007 and have two sons together.

In March 2025, Newman was awarded sole physical custody of their sons. Another report in People magazine stated that King has been granted visitation rights. She is allowed to visit her children three times a week during specific hours. However, she will be supervised when around her sons. The supervision is necessary because, according to the report, King has not completed her six-month alcohol and drug program.
