Bob Geldof recently reunited with his fellow musicians in London to mark the 40th anniversary of Live Aid at a special performance of the Just For One Day musical held at Shaftesbury Theatre on July 13, 2025.

The event brought together Geldof, Live Aid co-organizer Midge Ure, Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, musician Nik Kershaw, and actor Vanessa Williams, according to the Otago Daily Times. It celebrated the collaborative effort by the musicians to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia in 1985, generating over $125 million to $145 million for the cause.

The Irish pop star’s wife, Jeanne Marie, is a French actress. She is known for her roles in films such as Braveheart (1995), Possession (2002), and Itinerary of a Spoiled Child (1988), per her IMDb profile. She started dating the Boomtown Rats frontman following his divorce from his first wife, Paula Yates, in 1996.

Bob Geldof and Jeanne Marie first crossed paths in 1990, per The Daily Mail. He told the Irish Independent that he was struck by her beauty, but unfortunately, he was still reeling from his breakup with his then partner, and she was dating someone else.

They met again in late 1994 in Paris. Talking about his first meeting, Bob Geldof told the Irish Independent that their conversation was tricky, as he didn’t speak French and she didn’t speak English. He said:

“She hadn't a clue who I was and didn't care. She found me attractive, as opposed to 'Live Aid' Bob or 'The Wall' Bob or 'Boomtown' Bob or whatever the hell. I don't know how -- because I was just numb.”

Marie told Hello magazine that Bob Geldof is the man of her dreams. Describing her likeness for him, she explained:

“Bob is exactly the kind of man I've always been waiting for. He's compassionate, charming, intelligent and, on top of that, good-looking. He's the most handsome man in the world and I adore him.”

The couple got engaged in May 2014, per the National Herald. He proposed to his longtime girlfriend shortly after the demise of his daughter, Peaches, per Glamour UK. She reportedly died of a heroin overdose in April 2024 at the age of 25.

Bob Geldof’s friend Jerry Hall described their relationship to the outlet and the couple’s excitement to celebrate the moment. He said:

“Bob has proposed. She is over the moon. Jeanne Marine has been a rock and a tower of strength over this. I'm so excited for her I am bursting to tell someone. Bob and Jeanne have been through hell, but they are determined something positive will come out of it. After all the sadness, we need something to focus on which will bring joy and light.”

They tied the knot after staying together for 20 years on April 28, 2015, in an intimate ceremony in the Rayol Canadel Sur Mer in the South of France.

Bob Geldof shares three daughters with his ex-wife Paula Yates, who tragically died of a heroin overdose in 2000, as reported by the Daily Mail. She was also a mother to her youngest child, Tiger Lily, whom she shared with her late partner, Michael Hutchence. She was adopted by Bob later. Geldof and Jeanne Marie share no biological children of their own.
