The Baseball community mourns the passing of a star as Bobby Jenks, a professional baseball pitcher and coach, passes away at age 44. Jenks, who played for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox from 2005 up until 2011, passed away on July 4, 2025, after a battle with adenocarcinoma.
According to a statement released by Jerry Reinsdorf, the chairman of the White Sox, Jenks’ time with the White Sox will not be forgotten.
“We have lost an iconic member of the White Sox family today. None of us will ever forget that ninth inning of Game 4 in Houston, all that Bobby did for the 2005 World Series champions and for the entire Sox organization during his time in Chicago. He and his family knew cancer would be his toughest battle, and he will be missed as a husband, father, friend and teammate. He will forever hold a special place in all our hearts."
At the time of his death, Bobby was married to actress Eleni Tzitzivacos, marking his second marriage. He had six children: four from his previous marriage to Adele Romkee—Cuma, Nolan, Rylan, and Jackson, and two from his recent marriage to Eleni, named Zeno and Kate.
