Last Friday, reality television personality Chad Ollinger is now facing open murder charges after his cellmate was found unresponsive inside their shared jail cell during a routine check inside the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s press release obtained by ABC7 News, the unidentified cellmate was discovered around 11:20 PM with “apparent blunt force injuries.” Efforts to resuscitate the man failed, and he was declared dead at the scene.Upon investigation, the detectives from LVMPD’s Homicide Division found out that the victim was involved in an altercation with Chad Ollinger before his death.Ollinger, 41, is married to Haley Leigh Ollinger, and they share four children.It remains unclear whether Chad Ollinger has confessed to the killing. However, according to ABC7 News, he was taken into custody, rebooked and charged with murder. Ollinger was set to appear before the court on Sunday.He had already been in jail since October after being a fugitive in another state.All about Chad Ollinger’s familyChad Ollinger’s wife is an educator at Memphis ISD in Amarillo, Texas, who recently received the 2025-26 Secondary Teacher of the Year award from the Region 16 Education Service Center.Haley Leigh Ollinger, 38, is also a life coach and digital creator, according to her Facebook, which has 22,000 followers. Is road schooling next?”At the time, the couple revealed that they sold their house and aviation business in Dumas, Texas, and moved into a decommissioned school bus called ‘Skoolie’ while road-schooling their four children, Lillie, Hutch, Finn, and Hazie.The Ollingers shared that their kids had been “happier” ever since they got to learn something new daily, be it making a GoPro skateboarding video, writing their own songs, or helping their father “weld a part onto the bus.”Speaking about how shifting from public to road schooling was beneficial for their four children, Haley noted:“We were running in so many different directions, it was hard to make time for one another. Their eyes are open to new things all the time, and I just think they’re just different kids. They get to be themselves. (Image via X)Meanwhile, Chad, who previously owned a crop-dusting business, added that they were planning a six-week trip across Mexico and were thus focusing on learning basic Spanish.Chad Ollinger’s father, Duane Ollinger, aka the owner of Blind Frog Ranch, shared in the docuseries that his son “doesn’t have an ounce of quit in him” and if someone needed a scuba diver to enter 50 feet into an unknown cavern, it was going to be Chad.Ollinger junior is also connected to the Texas Panhandle and put his everything into a “wildcat gold-mining opportunity” in the Uintah Basin, Utah, according to his profile on the Discovery website.During a past interview with TV Insider, Chad Ollinger revealed that appearing in the docuseries and dealing with mysteries on their family ranch cost him his personal life.“It has hindered different relationships for sure. We spend a lot of time up there. We travel quite a bit to research this project. It has been tough on relationships, but here we are,” he stated.Exploring Chad Ollinger’s prior legal troublesIn November 2024, ahead of the release of the fourth season of Mystery at Bling Frog Ranch, Chad Ollinger was involved in a motorcycle chase and subsequent foot pursuit with law enforcement.Authorities revealed at the time that around 9 PM, he was riding his Harley-Davidson in Texas when he ran a stoplight, disregarding a parked and unmarked police car. However, when they tried to pull him over, he refused, which led to the chase and subsequent arrest.He was charged with evading arrest/ detention with a vehicle and evading arrest/ detention on foot. After 24 hours, he posted bond and was released. He later told TMZ that it was “hell of a ride.”In July of this year, Chad Olliger was reported missing by his family and was reported as “endangered” by the Amarillo Police Department. The public was asked to help locate him while he was put on the missing endangered persons list of both the Texas Crime Information Center and the National Crime Information Center.Ollinger was later found in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to The Blast. He allegedly also has a pending contempt of court charge against him.
