Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant's love story began 16 years ago (2009) when they met at a dinner party. It was their first, Grant's first book as an artist, and Reeve's first book as a writer.

She shared in an interview with British Vogue, saying:

"The book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift... All our friends sitting in the room got the giggles when I gave it to him — they said, 'Please publish it!' So that’s how we got into publishing."

Five years later, they collaborated on another book together titled Shadows. The book is a combination of Keanu's writings and photographs that were printed by Steidl in Germany.
