Actor and comedian Dave Coulier is facing a new health battle. The Full House star has revealed that doctors recently found tongue cancer during a routine checkup. Notably, the diagnosis arrived a few months after he finished treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Dave Coulier says the diagnosis has made him reflect on family support, early detection, and more. He stated:

"The last 12 months have been an emotional, psychological, physiological nightmare. No one should have to battle through this."

But throughout this health struggle, one person has remained by his side constantly: Dave Coulier's wife, Melissa Bring. The actor also added:

"I am going to enjoy the new year after that final treatment, because I get to wake up on the 1st of January of 2026 and not have to go downtown with my wife and lay on a table and get a radiation treatment. So it's going to be a very freeing experience to start the new year for sure."

Who is Dave Coulier's wife, Melissa Bring?

Melissa Bring grew up in Livingston, Montana. Her mother was an author, and her father worked as a lumberjack. Photography became her passion after her grandmother gifted her a camera at age 11. Eventually, she studied photography at Spokane Falls Community College.

She moved to Los Angeles after she met Dave Coulier while working a restaurant job in Bozeman. They kept in touch and eventually fell into a relationship. Bring photographed actors and entertainment personalities, including some of Coulier's Full House castmates. The couple made their red-carpet debut in 2008 at Comedy Central's Roast of Bob Saget.

On July 2, 2014, Coulier and Bring tied the knot in Montana during a relatively short outdoor ceremony. Coulier told PEOPLE:

"It was probably six minutes [long]. Everybody was like, 'That was the best wedding ceremony ever!' Bob Saget and John Stamos pulled me aside after the ceremony. We laughed and we hugged and we kissed each other like three brothers do. There were genuine tears of joy welling up in our eyes."

Melissa Bring is the stepmother to Dave Coulier's son Luc, whom he shares with his first wife. She once responded to a fan question saying,

"[I] love being a stepmom!"

The family recently expanded further when Luc and his wife welcomed a baby boy in March 2025.

Dave Coulier's new cancer diagnosis

Doctors examined Coulier during his first routine scan after beating lymphoma and noticed something near his tongue. The actor was told he had p16 squamous cell carcinoma. According to reports, this is a type of head and neck cancer.

He underwent surgery in October to remove the upper layer of his tongue. The recovery made speaking and swallowing painful for the actor. He shared:

"I did not want speak for the first couple of weeks."

Dave also added:

"I am going to enjoy the new year after that final treatment, because I get to wake up on the 1st of January of 2026 and not have to go downtown with my wife and lay on a table and get a radiation treatment. So it’s going to be a very freeing experience to start the new year for sure."

His last radiation treatment is scheduled for December 31, 2025.
