Edward Faulkner has passed away aged 93. Known for starring in several Western movies and blockbusters like The Green Berets, Rio Lobo, and McLintock, he died on August 26, 2025, from natural causes. His daughter revealed this to media outlets.
A press release by Faulkner’s family stated that the iconic actor will be remembered for his “kindness and genuine warmth”:
“Offscreen, Faulkner never lost his boyhood love of magic, delighting friends and family with sleight-of-hand and illusions throughout his life. Colleagues and loved ones remembered him for his kindness and genuine warmth — qualities that defined him as much as his body of work.”
She added that the actor was at a healthcare facility in Vista, California, at the time of his death. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Faulkner, from 1954 to 2013 until the actress died on May 17, 2023, aged 80.
Their children survive: Edward Jan Davidson, Barbara Morrow, Leslie Wadsworth, and Edward Faulkner III, and their grandchildren, Tyler Davidson, Wyatt Davidson, Steven Wadsworth, Olivia Wadsworth, and Brooke Morrow.

Edward Faulkner was born the youngest of two children in 1932 and was an active member of the song and dance club in Henry Clay High School. His father ran a prominent building supply company, while his mother was a retired music and piano teacher.
According to the actor’s website, Faulkner met his wife, Barbara, when they joined the Student Council. They were cast as a romantic couple in their senior class play as lovers, “Emily Webb” and “George Gibbs.” They were later crowned as king & queen at their senior prom.
The couple later got married in June 1954. They were married for nearly 59 years before Barbara’s death and are survived by three daughters and a son. Edward had his big career break when he starred in the movie G.I. Blues and played fitness instructor Brad Bentley in Tickle Me, another Elvis Presley movie.
