Tommy Dorfman has announced a split from his wife, Elise Williams, according to a report in People magazine.

The report stated that the 13 Reasons Why star filed for a divorce on May 16 in New York City. The couple had been married for two years since they met on the Hinge dating app.

They met on the Hinge dating app in 2021 and got engaged two months later. They moved in together two months later and eloped at the end of 2023, as per a report in Just Jared. At that time, Dorfman kept Williams’ identity a secret and said that she was romantically involved with a “gay girl.”

According to Style magazine, Elise Williams is a very private person. Her former partner, Dorfman, revealed in a Vogue essay that Elise didn’t even follow her on Instagram, and her account is private.

She stayed away from the spotlight and never aspired to be famous, Dorfman wrote in her essay. She mentioned that when Williams was in her early 20s, she dedicated her life to educating, interior design projects, and writing.

In her Vogue essay, Tommy Dorfman spoke about meeting her former partner and wife, Elise Williams. She described how she met her former wife on the dating app called Hinge, where she was in search of people who had no connection with Hollywood.

Smitten by her appearance, Dorfman wrote:

“I landed on a profile that caught my eye: Elise, a redhead with an affinity for ‘crisp glassware and well-organised bodegas’, the type of texter who ‘does her best’, and undeniably beautiful. Like John Singer Sargent portrait kind of beautiful. I swiped right hard and was met with a notification that she liked me too. Fun!”

According to Style magazine, Dorfman wrote in her essay that she got engaged two months after dating and waited for 12 months to move in together. They adopted a Great Dane puppy after six months of dating each other.

Elise Williams and Tommy Dorfman then eventually decided to elope one autumn morning in 2023. Their wedding was a secret affair, and according to the actress they tied the knot at the Santa Monica Hotel,

“without telling a soul what we’d done”.
