Who is Erika Jayne? All about the ‘Real Housewives’ star amid ex-husband Tom Girardi’s fraud scandal

Erika Jayne, the actress and television personality who starred in the reality TV show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been making headlines recently. On June 3, 2025, Erika's ex-husband, Tom Girardi, who was once a renowned Los Angeles attorney, was sentenced to over seven years in federal prison, as reported by NBC News.

Jayne appeared in the sixth season the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills show, where her ex-husband Girardi also had made quite a few appearances. Girardi is convicted of stealing an amount of at least $15 million from his clients.

Erika and Tom Girardi married in 2000 and were divorced in 2020. Recently, Tom has been in the news as the 86-year-old ex-attorney will be facing over seven years in prison for embezzling at least $15 million from clients. He is convicted on four counts of wire fraud.

He is also ordered to pay $2.3 million in restitution and additional fines. Tom reportedly suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, and when his legal team requested the judge to place him in a medical facility, the motion was denied given the grave charges. The judge has, however, allowed him to remain free until his sentencing, but asked him to surrender by July 17, as per ABC News.

Among the clients whose money Tom Girardi is said to have stolen are victims of accidents and the families of those involved in the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 crash, and an individual named Joe Ruigomez, who was burned in a gas line explosion. During the trial last year, Jayne was also found competent in the case. She, however, consistently denied knowing anything about her ex-husband's fraudulent activities and is currently not facing any criminal charges.

Reports, however, indicate that an amount of $25 million from the misappropriated funds was placed into her comapny, EJ Global.

Erika Jayne had also appeared in NBC's legal drama series Law & Order before appearing in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She has also starred in the soap opera, The Young and the Restless, and served as a red carpet host in 2017 and 2018 for the American Music Awards.

Jayne is also a singer and songwriter, and she released her first single, Roller Coaster, in 2007, and the song was placed at number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

On TV, Erika has also starred in the 2025 series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, and the singing reality competition, The Masked Singer. Earlier this year, Erika reprised her role as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago. Erika has one son from her previous marriage.
