All we need to know about Evanescence’s current members

Amy Lee founded Evanescence with guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas, after meeting at a Christian youth camp in Arkansas in 1994. She is a classically trained pianist and composer. Her music blended classical, cinematic, metal, and alternative sounds.

In an interview with Ned of Iowa's Rock 108 radio station in June this year, Evanescence singer Amy Lee praised the band's current lineup as feeling "complete" for the first time. She spoke about Emma Anzai, the founding member and bassist of Australia’s Sick Puppies. She said:

“I have been her fan for a million years. We really got to know each other in 2007. We've known each other forever. We toured together back then on the same tour.”

Anzai joined Evanescence as a bassist after Tim McCord shifted to guitar. Lee has praised her for being “extremely talented and professional” and also refers to her as an “incredible stage performer.”

McCord is Evanescence's longtime guitarist; he initially joined the band as a bassist. He previously played guitar in The Revolution Smile and projects like Quitter and The Snobs.

Troy McLawhorn joined the band in 2007. After leaving the band for some time, he officially rejoined in 2011. He is known for working with the bands Seether, Dark New Day, doubleDrive, Still Rain, and Gibraltar.

Will Hunt first joined in May 2007 as the live drummer during The Open Door era, when he and McLawhorn replaced Rocky Grey and John LeCompt on tour. He later rejoined as the full-time drummer for the self-titled album.

The band recently announced a World Tour that will begin on June 11, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida, and end on October 26 in Morrison, Colorado. It will cover US cities through August, then head to Canada and Europe.

A report in the Rolling Stones noted that Nova Twins, K. Flay, Poppy and Spiritbox will be opening for the band. Evanescence released Afterlife and Fight Like A Girl as singles this year. Afterlife dropped in March 2025 and topped multiple charts by June. Fight Like A Girl, which is reportedly linked to the John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, arrived in July with an official music video. Lee also contributed another song for the film titled Hand That Feeds in collaboration with Halsey.

Evanescence has teased a new album for 2026, however title for the album is yet to be announced. This will be the band’s sixth studio album which follows The Bitter Truth, released in 2021.
